Enhancing Metal-Matrix Composites Performance via Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS) Process

We have investigated a series of high performance metal-matrix composites (MMCs), in order to improve mechanical and thermal properties such composites. To fabricate composites, we used spark plasma sintering (SPS) process. Using this processing, would minimize or avoid some risks damaging filler surfaces during processing. In article, also introduced are various kinds MMCs, metal/intermetallic laminate materials, fiber reinforced particle dispersed heat dissipative materials. These been fabricated using methods, as, vacuum hot pressing, diffusion bonding metal infiltration, their physical shown well documented. the MMCs by our SPS method is compared those other fabrication methods. This review article leads strong indications regarding techniques for making better MMCs.
